A Dublin native, designer Carol Egan (@studiocarolegan)
grew up between Edwardian and Tudor spaces that were far from minimalist. Her ethereal glass-walled home in Amagansett, New York, is a different matter entirely. The collected look of her home’s interior, she says, “is very autobiographical.” Except for a few contemporary pieces, everything in the home is from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s, bought during trips to Europe or at stateside auctions. Here in the living room, a cone fireplace original to the house is the focal point. The vintage armchair (left) is by Edvin Helseth and the vintage side table by Nanna Ditzel. The artworks are by Jack Ceglic (portrait), Carmen Herrera (black and white print), and Larysa Sendich (archival print, below).
