Life is better when you're on your own team. And with time, I have become my most valuable player :) 💜

when I chose to hit pause on the spaces I was expected to occupy, I was able to address a subtle yet pressing time in my life. A time where, at twenty four years young, I’m just starting to get my toes wet.

The truth is, the world of social media is a curated space that I have felt limited by. When algorithms spin a beauty ideal, you are expected to conform. When fitness is over-emphasized and fallaciously dressed up as a synonym to health, the topic of mental well-being becomes a subordinate. When self-love is over simplified as merely accepting one’s body, we miss out on all the other treasures that surpass our eyes.

Over the past few months, I’ve looked at my own actions and had to take a step back. not only for myself but for the younger generation watching me. For the women in recovery from mental illness that see a glimpse of hope in my story. For the men who dread their reflection thanks to body dysmorphia. For the girl googling whether a food product is safe to eat, or a mother who can’t can’t seem to get off the treadmill.

My goal for those that are tuning in is to create a space of love, compassion, and wholesome health. To feel safe from the pressures of the world that are tirelessly trying to make you feel inadequate in your skin. I want to do better for you, to condition your growth in a way that I didn’t have when I was a kid. because simply, this is how the world gets better.

Being picked up by the chaos that is societal beauty standards, I had to do myself a favour and escape the riptide. With a little introspection and eliminating the curated world of ig, I’m healthier and happier than I’ve ever been
