Did you know? The capybara (Hydrochaeris hydrochaeris) is the world’s largest living rodent—one record-setting capy in Brazil weighed about 200 pounds (90.7 kilograms)! This inhabitant of Central and South America has front teeth that keep growing as it wears them down from slicing down grasses, reeds, and other plants. It also eats its own poop regularly because it needs helpful bacteria from its own gut to help break down, and get the most nutrients out of, its tough plant diet. 💩
