Thank you Grace for letting me share my passion with the D*S community! ___________________________________ About 15 years ago, I walked away from my career in law to raise my family. It was an easy escape, my corporate job had a way of sucking all the fun out. I dabbled in everything from event planning to grant writing to professional fundraising. It wasn’t until I started to take my “hobby” of interior styling and design seriously that things began to feel right. I often incorporated plants into my clients’ designs. Most times, I’d pick up two of everything--one for them and one for me. :) I quickly realized that plants were much more than a tool in my style guide. And so PlantBlerd was born. ___________________________________ In the hustle and bustle of building a business, and caring for my family it was very easy to get lost in the mix. I hardly ever made it onto my long list of daily priorities. In plants, not only did I find something that literally brings the room alive; I found a means of carving out something for myself. In the care and keeping of plants, I am also caring for myself. When I check on them, I am checking on myself. Just add music and incense to watering day, and it's like ambulatory meditation. Is that a thing? I’m not sure, but you heard it here first. Plant care is self care. Helping others not only make their space beautiful, but also find a path to self care is so fulfilling. Combining my love for plants and design, I curated a brand that reflects my personal ethos: You cannot be good to others, if you are not good to yourself.
